Project Description

Tales is a sound-based interactive installation, which questions rigid and static notions of identity through the use of voice and first-person storytelling. Users will share a one-minute voice portrait that will be integrated in real-time to a sonic environment, in which fragments of each user’s personal story will be randomly interchanged, creating a multi-voiced and multi-tuned new narrative.

Lee Favorite is a Brooklyn-based journalist, experimental media maker, and a self-taught musician from Chile, with a research and multidisciplinary-centered practice. Favorite works with mixed media to create participatory and hybrid narratives that explore questions around identity and otherness. In 2018, Favorite received the New York Foundation for the Arts’ Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program: Social Practice award for his project Chuecxs, a multimedia hybrid utopia about queer Latinxs in NY.
