DXHESVA SPEAKS

By Anisa Hodzic

DXHESVA SPEAKS is an interactive audio-visual installation that transforms traditional Balkan coffee pots, known as džezvas, into intimate listening devices. Each pot functions as a vessel of both sound and memory, carrying looping audio compositions derived from oral histories, field recordings, and archival materials. The project reimagines domestic space as a site of cultural inheritance and quiet resistance, foregrounding the labor, voices, and gestures of Balkan women whose work has often remained unseen and unheard.
